Bai Lin Gong Fu Black Tea – A Treasured Fujian Classic Origin & Legacy Bai Lin Gong Fu Black Tea [白琳工夫紅茶] is a prized Fujian black tea, named after its birthplace—the historic tea-growing region of Bailin 白琳, Fuding. While Fuding is celebrated as the origin of white tea, it also nurtures this centuries-old black tea: Bai Lin Gong Fu, a refined black tea with a legacy dating back to the Qing Dynasty (18th century). We sourced these two exceptional batches—an award-winning premium grade and a classic grade —directly from our partner tea gardens in Fuding. History With 250 years of heritage, Bai Lin Gong Fu stands among China’s oldest Gong Fu black tea. Records from The Tea Bible (“茶經”) hint at Fuding’s tea fame—its “White Tea Mountain” (likely today’s Bailin 白琳, Dian Tou 點頭, and Panxi 潘溪 districts in Fujian) yielded leaves that birthed this iconic black tea. By the Qing dynasty, Bai Lin Gong Fu, made from Fuding’s Da Bai and Da Hao cultivars, gained global acclaim, exported to Southeast Asia and Europe as a symbol of Fujian’s tea artistry.
