Charming little Japanese vase covered in interesting green flambe glaze and signed 香山 ‘Kozan’, most likely referring to the famous Miyagawa ‘Makuzu’ Kozan I 宮川香山 (1842–1916) who experimented with this type of small forms and exotic glazes during the late 19th and early 20th century.For reference see collections of The British Museum, object A_1980-0514-3 (1980,0514.3) and collections of the V&A Museum, objects O493487 (C.228-1910) and O496030 (C.255-1910). Clare Pollard in her book ‘Master Potter of Meiji Japan’ dates similar style of his signature to the 1890s.In excellent antique condition as photographed.Height: 8 cm
