Category:
Description A beautifully detailed Japanese Cloisonne and Ginbari (foil technique) box depicting a lady with chickens. The background and base of the container is in a rich turquoise enamel with the image in wire and foil enamel known as Ginbari. The box would have been made in the late 19th century and date from around 1890 – 1900. It measures 3” x 2 1/2” by just under 1 1/2” deep (770mm x 610mm x 37mm). The inside is enamelled in a shade of brown. A section of the back bottom half of the box has been professionally restored but this is only noticeable in a certain light. There are comprehensive images in the gallery photos so please have a close look at this amazing work. A very collectable item.
