History of Mahasiddha Virupa: A prominent figure in the Buddhist tradition, Mahasiddha Virupa was a great yogi, master of tantric practices and an accomplished scholar. He is a great exponent of the Tantric tradition, which he transmitted to the people of Tibet. Born into a royal family, he embarked on a spiritual odyssey mastering the art of tantric practices, eventually attaining the status of Mahasiddha, which refers to one who personifies and cultivates the “siddhis of perfection.” He is considered one of the great sages of Tantric Buddhism, who achieved the ultimate goal of enlightenment through their practice.
