Description Striking Art Deco coral necklace with a stylish Bakelite drop dating from around the 1920’s. The coral matches the bakelite drop perfectly and the length of the bead necklace measures 19” (237mm). The beads fasten with a barrel clasp. On very close scrutiny, 4 beads to either side above the last 2 large corals, are actually coral coloured glass beads. I believe that these beads were added to make the necklace slightly longer. You cannot tell from looking at it that these are not coral as they blend in perfectly. Coral has always been collectable and is becoming scarce nowadays. One of nature’s fine gifts!
