Because of the complications we face in achieving the unity of the opposition. Despite calls by many parties for the unity of the opposition, it was most painful to witness the refusal of the status quo authorities (current government) to agree reforms and its refusal to respond to the calls of the freemen in Syria. For it (the current Syrian government) is possessed by unilateral decision making, ignorance, stubbornness (refractoriness) and fear. We salute with respect our people and our heroic military. We send our love and appreciation to our security forces and our fighters in jails. For our martyrs we ask forgiveness, we pray and plea long lasting promise of loyalty for their dignity and their cause. Our struggling people in our beloved country Syria, what we see important for the unity and resistance of our people is to call for Dr Rifaat Al Assad, President of the United National Assembly - Syrian Command for Opposition and Change to address our people. Calls which would create the union necessary to isolate the status quo government and force it to succumb to peoples' demands and aspirations. The President of the UNA Dr. Rifaat Al Assad instantaneously called for an immediate meeting to discuss the decision with all parties within the Union, and therefore the following resolution was declared last night the 11th of June:
The Command of the United National Assembly calls for its President Dr. Rifaat Al Assad to issue the necessary statements to prompt the peaceful struggle and for the freemen of Syria to free the country peacefully in the name of the Union. The statements should then be presented to the leadership of the Union to be published in different media. All we ask at the Unions of the Assembly is for your cooperation to gain your freedom, victory and prosperity. To be able to guarantee dignity for our great Syrian people.
